Ingredients for Simple Paneer Tikka Recipe:

  • Paneer (Cottage Cheese): 500 grams, cut into cubes, is standard.
  • Onion, Capsicum, and Tomato: Typically, these vegetables are cut into cubes.
  • Hung Curd: 3 tablespoons of hung curd (strained yogurt) is a common ingredient for marination.
  • Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder: 2 teaspoons is a typical amount for a vibrant color and moderate heat.
  • Ginger-Garlic Paste: 1 tablespoon is standard.
  • Salt: Adjust to taste.
  • Garam Masala Powder: 1 teaspoon adds a warm, complex flavor.
  • Saunf Powder (Fennel): 1 teaspoon is less common but can add a unique flavor.
  • Turmeric Powder: 1/2 teaspoon for color and mild flavor.
  • Ajwain (Carom Seeds): 1/2 teaspoon is less common but can add a distinct taste.
  • Chaat Masala: 1 teaspoon for tanginess and extra flavor.

Directions to Make Paneer Tikka Masala:

  • Add the paneer, capsicum, tomato, and onion to the marinade. Mix well so that the marinade coats all the ingredients evenly.
  • Place the marinated paneer and vegetables in the freezer for at least 2 hours.
  • After the marination time, remove the paneer and vegetables from the freezer and let them come to room temperature.
  • Thread the onion, capsicum, tomato, and paneer onto skewers, decorating as desired.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) for 3 minutes.
  • Place the skewers on a tray.
  • Brush a little oil onto the paneer and vegetables. Bake for 20–25 minutes at 180°C.
  • Every 10 minutes, turn the skewers and brush a little oil on the paneer and vegetables to ensure they cook evenly on all sides.
  • Once the paneer and vegetables are slightly browned, turn off the oven.
  • Place the paneer tikka masala on a plate and garnish with chopped onions and lemon slices.
